SIMMONS WINS AT ECAC OUTDOOR CHAMPS

Troy, NY- On Thursday May 17 and Friday May 18, 2012, the 2012 ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships were held at Rochester Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. Four athletes competed at this prestigous post season meet. On the Women's Side, Freshman standout Katisha Simmons competed in the 100m Dash and 200m Dash. On the Men's Side, Juniors Junior Kennedy, Elston Alexis, and Kadeem Campbell competed in their events.

On the Women's Side, Katisha Simmons won her best event, the 100m Dash with a time of 12.12. She smashed her qualifying time by 37 tenths. Simmons beat her opponent by 15 tenths. She earned 10pts for her 1st place. In the 200m Dash, Simmons finished in 8th place, with a time of 25.54. That was good for 1pt. Her 11pts were good for 27th Overall in the Team competition.

On the Men's Side, Two Time CUNYAC Outdoor T & F Championships Kadeem Campbell competed in the Triple Jump, where he jumped 13.34m. This was good for 15th Overall. In the 110m Hurdles, Junior Kennedy finished 18th Overall, with a time of 16.01. In Shot Put, Elston Alexis finished in 18th place with a throwing distance of 14.21m. In Javelin Throw, Alexis finished in 12th place with a distance of 50.18m The Men didn't score as a team.
