BROOKLYN, NY - The Medgar Evers College women's soccer team faced off against Clarks Summit University on Saturday, September 7.
The Cougars (0-2) fell to the Defenders (2-1) by a final score of 9-0.
Despite allowing seven first-half goals, the Cougars limited the Defenders to just two in the second half. Goalkeeper
Ajene Christian made nine saves, while the defense of
Nicole Marsh,
Tasheka James,
Jody-Ann Blanchard and
Jessycca Myers made a number of timely defensive interventions and generated much of the Cougars' offense.Â
Despite playing almost the entire match with just eight players, the Cougars fought valiantly and ought to be proud of their effort. They never quit and fought until the end.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, September 10, for a home match at Aviator Field against Purchase College at 7 pm.
