LIGHTNING DOWN LADY COUGARS 3-0 IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

Brooklyn, NY- The Lady Cougars came up short once again in finding that elusive 1st victory of the 2011 campaign. On Tuesday Sept. 27, 2011 the Lehman College Lightning came to MEC and beat them 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, and 25-11). Lehman improved to 4-6 Overall and 4-1 CUNYAC while the Lady Cougars fell to 0-9 Overall and 0-4 CUNYAC. 

The Lady Cougars tried to get win points which in turn would win sets, but the errors started to build and Lehman capitalized. In the loss, MEC was led by Beatrice Bonhomme and Yvanna Jack. Each tallied 2 kills. Bonhomme tallied a service ace, 2 digs and a solo block. Jack tallied a 2 digs and 3 solo blocks which led the team. Grace Mercado led the team in assists which 1, and AnnMarie Bemberry led the team in digs with 4.

Lehman in the win was led by Gerri-Ann Martin, who tallied a match high 6 kills.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 1, 2011 when they Sarah Lawrence @ 3pm and Brooklyn College for the 3rd time @ 5pm in a multimatch at Brooklyn College.
