Box Score Brooklyn, NY- On Monday night, the Medgar Evers College Women's Volleyball squad competed in their 2^nd HVWAC match vs. the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels. New Rochelle won 3-1 (17-25, 25-21, 18-25, 10-25). The Blue Angels improve to 6-9 Overall and 2-0 HVWAC, while Medgar Evers falls to 0-12 Overall and 0-2 HVWAC.

In the first set, College of New Rochelle connected on 11 kills for a hitting average of .444. Medgar Evers played through their mistakes early on, and in the 2^nd set converted on 6 kills compared to New Rochelle's 4. Tied at 22, Medgar Evers College served out for the set. College of New Rochelle played well in the 3^rd and 4^th sets, and prevailed for the win.

In the loss, Medgar Evers College was led by Janiece Hill. The Junior and Beach Channel alum tallied 7 kills on 24 total attacks. Hill accumulated a pair of service aces, 3 digs, and 2 blocking assists. Reigning HVWAC Women's Volleyball Honor Roll Catheline Joseph notched 5 kills to go with 5 service aces, 3 digs, and 3 blocking assists. Sophomore Setter AnnMarie Bemberry helped out with 14 assists.

In the win, the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels was led by Meghan King with 8 kills. Cydney House added a match high 12 service aces.

Medgar Evers College will be back in action on Wednesday Oct. 3, 2012, when they play another HVWAC Institution, the Saint Joseph's College of Brooklyn Bears. Game time is 7pm at Medgar Evers College.
