Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Basketball Cougars fell to the Hunter College Hawks 71-42 earlier tonight. The Hawks improve to 4-6 Overall and 1-2 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-6 Overall and 0-3 CUNYAC.
The Cougars started on a 8-0 run, which spanded the first 4:25. Hunter would make a comeback, and tie the game up at 11, with 12:25 left in the 1st half. The Cougars would regain the lead, when Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain
Imani Mason, converted on a running layup. The Cougars would see their 13-11 lead, fall when Hunter would go on a 22-0, spanning 8:57. The Cougars would never regain the lead.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain
Nia Tompkins with 17pts. The Queens, NY native grabbed six rebounds, and added three steals. Freshman Forward/Center
Kimonia Mullings her 4th double-double of the season. Mullings scored 13pts and grabbed a game high 18 rebounds. The Flushing High School Graduate tallied two blocks and added four steals.
Hunter College in the win, was led by Kristen Markoe with 17pts. Nicole Lenard added 14pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday Dec. 13th, 2013, when they travel to borough rival Brooklyn College. Tip-off against the Bulldogs will be at 5pm.
