Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Basketball team fell to the Lehman College Lightning 98-37 earlier tonight. The Lightning improve to 12-6 Overall and 6-3 CUNYAC, while the Cougars drop to 2-15 Overall and 0-9 CUNYAC.
The Lightning led from the opening tip. The Cougars would get to 3pts from the lead twice.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain
Nia Tompkins with 21pts (1-3 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY antive grabbed nine rebounds, tallied a block, and added two steals. Junior Forward
Kiwelewa Mlimwengu had a career game, scoring five points, all from the free throw line, and grabbing a team high 10 rebounds. Mlimwengu dished out an assist and added a block. Â
In the win, Lehman College was led by Genesis Liberato with 22pts. Four other Lightning scored in double digits including, Amely Del Rosario (20pts), Jennifer Navarro (18pts), Amani Lightbourne (15pts), and Shalaya Nieves tallying 12pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday January 24, 2014, when the City College of New York Beavers, travel to Brooklyn, and take on the Cougars. Game time is 6pm.
