Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Basketball team fell to the City College Beavers 81-37 earlier tonight. The Beavers improve to 7-10 Overall and 4-6 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-16 Overall and 0-10 CUNYAC.
The Cougars led twice in this game, early on in the half. Sophomore Guard
Nia Tomkins nailed a three point shot, making the score 3-2, Sophomore Forward
Antanique Williams scored on a jumper (5-3), and Tompkins would follow with a layup, making the score 7-6, with 15:52. With 15 minutes left in the game, the Beavers regained the lead and didn't look back.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by
Nia Tompkins with 18pts. The Co-Captain grabbed five rebounds, dished out an assist, and added a game high six steals.
Antanique Williams scored 10pts, grabbed six rebounds, and tallied two steals.Â
In the win, City College was led by Karissa Core with 19pts. Three other Beavers scored in double digits, including: Bria Fisher with 15pts, Syreeta Williams with 12pts, and Latoya Lee with 11pts.Â
The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday January 29, 2014, when CUNYAC and Borough rival the Brooklyn College Bulldogs invade Medgar Evers College. Game time will be 6pm. All fans are encouraged to wear Black as this is the Black Out Night.Â
