Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers Cougars Women's Basketball Team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 99-44 earlier tonight. The Bloodhounds improve to 4-8 Overall and 2-3 CUNYAC, while the Cougars drop to 2-11 Overall and 0-5 CUNYAC.
The Cougars were down from the opening tip. John Jay started on a 18-0 run spanning 7:25. The Cougars got on the board, from a layup by
Imani Mason. In the 2nd half, the Cougars showed signs of improvement. They improved in the field goal shooting (37.9% compared to 10.3%) and 33% from 3pt. range compared to not making a shot in the 1st half.Â
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Co-Captain and Sophomore
Nia Tompkins with 18pts (6-8 FT-FTA). Tompkins grabbed three rebounds and dished out four assists. Freshman Forward/Center
Kimonia Mullings tallied 12pts (4-6 FG-FGA and 4-6 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed five rebounds, and added a steal.
In the win, John Jay was led by Jamecia Forsythe with a game high 24pts.Tyana Hale scored 19pts and Jennifer Walsh added 12pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Friday January 10, 2014, when they take on the College of Staten Island Dolphins. Game time is 6pm.
