COUGARS FALL TO BLOODHOUNDS IN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Box Score New York, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Basketball team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 68-32 earlier tonight. The Bloodhounds improve to 9-14 Overall and 7-7 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-20 Overall and 0-14 CUNYAC. 

This was a tough game for the Cougars. Both teams are coming off games from the night before, so it was, which team would be stronger the next night. The Cougars never led in this game. They cut the lead to a bucket (4-2 early on). The Bloodhounds went on a 12-0 run, which spanned five minutes. They went on several runs after that, and the game out of reach for Cougars. The lone bright spot, was the Cougars shot better from the free throw line than the Bloodhounds did (66.7% than 58.8%).

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain Nia Tompkins with 8pts (2-3 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed six rebounds, a block, and a game high six steals. Junior Forward Jasmine Dossou grabbed a season high 11 rebounds. Freshman Guard Ashley Desir led the team in assists with four.

In the win, the Bloodhounds were led by Jamecia Forsythe with a game high 21pts.

The Couhars will be back on Friday February 14, 2014, when they travel to New York, NY and battle the Hunter College Hawks. Game time is 5pm.
