Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Basketball team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 60-40 earlier tonight. The Bloodhounds improved to 2-10 overall and 2-5 CUNYAC, while the Cougars drop to 1-14 overall and 0-7 CUNYAC.
The Cougars took an early lead when Sophmore Forward
Kiwelewa Mlimwengu shot a free-throw, making the score 1-0. John Jay College would take a lead 3-1, before Ms. Mlimwengu would nail a jumper, tying the score at 3. The Bloodhounds would regain the lead, and not look back. For the game, the Cougars shot 28.1% from the field, 42.9% from 3pt. FG-FGA, and 45.5% from the free throw line.Â
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Forward
Kimonia Mullings with 11pts (5-17 FG-FGA and 1-2 FT-FTA). Kimonia grabbed a game high 18 rebounds (11 defensive). This was her 3rd double-double of the season. Kim also dished out an assist, and carouled four steals. Sophomore Forward
Kiwelewa Mlimwengu scored eight points, and Sophomore Guard
Ashley Desir dished out a team high five assists. John Jay College was led by Josephine Diaz and Brianna Cunningham, both with 15pts apiece. Victoria Royal added 13pts.Â
The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday, January. 17, 2015, when they play the College of Staten Island Dolphins in Staten Island, NY. Tip-off will be 3:00 pm.Â
