Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers women's soccer team allowed a first-half barrage as they dropped a 10-0 decision to CUNYAC opponent Brooklyn College Wednesday night at the Aviator Sports Complex.
Kenia Diaz (Queens, N.Y./Allentown Central), who made three saves in net despite a losing effort for the Cougars (0-12, 0-6 CUNYAC). They also got two shots on the day, one each from
Fiona Wright and
Charyln Jordan.
Jasmine Fermin recorded a hat trick in the win for the Bulldogs (4-10-2, 3-1-2 CUNYAC). Jordan Kerwin added two goals and Leslie Gomez dished off two assists, while five other players each tallied a score.
Brooklyn erupted in the first half with nine of their 10 goals in the stanza, starting with Stefany Ibarra's score at 6:28. Fermin then added her first goal followed by Kerwin to put them up 3-0 at 19:24. Shani Nakhid-Schuster fired in a penalty shot at 24:09. They would score five more goals in a matter of 15 minutes, including Fermin notching her second and third goals in a matter of 2:05, to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
The next matchup for the Cougars will be against the University of Saint Joseph next Monday. Start time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Aviator Sports Complex.
