Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Women's Basketball team fell to the City College of New York Beavers 60-31 in the season finale. The Beavers improve to 5-20, 3-13 CUNYAC while the Cougars finish the season at 1-24 and 0-16 CUNYAC.
The Beavers started the game on a 3pt. basket. The Cougars would go on a 6-0 run, building a 6-3 lead. The Beavers would chip away at the lead, and run off a 13-0 lead, putting the game out of reach. The Cougars shot 26.5% from the field, 33.3% from 3pt. range, and 57.1% from the charity stripe. CCNY shot 35.6% from the field, 21.7% from 3pt. range, and 60% from the free throw line.Â
The Cougars were led by sophomore forward
Kimonia Mullings with 13 points (6-16 FG-FGA and 1-2 FT-FTA). The Flushing, N.Y. native grabbed a game high 14 rebounds. She swiped away a shot and added three steals. This was her 7th double double of the season. Sophomore forward
Kiwelewa Mlimwengu scored seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Ashley Desir dished out a team high four assists. CCNY was led by Shannell Bellamy with 16 points.
The Cougars will look forward to the 2015-16 season with better things to come. Â
