KIMONIA MULLINGS LEAD COUGARS AGAINST JOHN JAY

NEW YORK, N.Y.- The Women's Basketball team fell to the John Jay College Bloodhounds 65-32 earlier tonight. The Bloodhounds improve to 4-16, 4-10 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-21, 0-13 CUNYAC.

John Jay led wire to wire. The Cougars cut the lead to single digits for the three minutes. The Cougars shot 27.3% from the field, 9.1% from 3pt. range, and 53.8% from the charity stripe. Sophomore forward Kimonia Mullings recorded her sixth double-double of the season, scoring a game high 19 points (7-17 FG-FGA and 5-9 FT-FTA). The Flushing, N.Y. native also grabbed a team high 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Ashley Desir led the team in assists with two and steals with three. John Jay shot 44.3% from the field, 35% from 3pt. range, and 36.4% from the free throw line. John Jay was led by Josephine Diaz and Brianna Cunningham with 14 points apiece. Terri Chu scored 11 points and Victoria Royal added 10 points.    

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, February. 10, 2015, when they battle the College of Staten Island Dolphins. Game time will be 6:00 p.m. and will be played at Medgar Evers College.
