Box Score THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – The Medgar Evers women's soccer team failed to get any offensive attack going throughout the game as they dropped a 13-0 decision to SUNY Maritime Thursday night at Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck.

The Cougars (0-5) got three shots apiece from
Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y./Flushing) and
Claudemar Seneus (Brooklyn, N.Y./H.S. for Public Services), but could not push one past the goalkeeper. In net,
Marlene Thompson (Linden, Guyana/Mackenzie) faced a barrage of 25 total shots on net, making 12 saves on the evening in a losing effort.

Gayle Woods tallied four goals and an assist in the victory for the Privateers (3-3-0), while Krista Deleva delivered a hat trick of goals to go with two assists. Julianna Avitto scored two goals, and Cammie Havens was one of four other players with a goal in the game.

It took Maritime only six and a half minutes to put the first goal on the board, as Deleva got the goal from a nice lead pass form midfield. Woods would add two more in the next six minutes, while Avitto tallied two more goals in about two minutes to go up 5-0 in the first 17:44. Grace Stanton would break away for a score to put the Privateers up 6-0 at halftime.

After intermission, the Privateers continued their goal assault with seven total scores in the second half. Woods and Deleva would net two more goals each to add to both their outstanding evenings in the win.
