Women's Soccer Drops Decision to CUNYAC Foe York, 12-0

Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y – The Medgar Evers women's soccer team were outplayed in the first half in their 12-0 loss on the road to CUNYAC foe York College Tuesday evening at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn.
 
Medgar Evers (0-2) got seven saves in net by Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y./Flushing) and five saves from Marlene Thompson (Linden, Guyana/Edward R. Murrow). The Cougars only were able to put one shot on goal, a missed shot by Zoanne Claxton (Linden, Guyana/Watch).
 
Estafany Delgado paced Cardinals (1-2) to their first win of the season, scoring five goals and dishing out two assists. Kennisha Wills added another four scores, while Jeniffer Durazno tallied a goal and an assist in the victory.
 
York erupted early on in the first half with a Delgado goal less than three minutes into the half. This was a start of a nine-goal run in the opening half, including Delgado's score on a free kick as time expired on the intermission. The Cardinals would tack on three more goals in the second half to finish with 12 goals.
 
The Cougars will have their first home match of the season Thursday night, when they face Rowan University. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 at Aviator Sports Complex.
