Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A second-quarter run was too much to battle back against as the Medgar Evers women's basketball team loses to CUNYAC opponent Lehman College, 84-51, at the Cougars Cave Friday night.

Danyelle Foster (Brooklyn, N.Y.) posted her tenth double-double of the season for the Lady Cougars (1-16, 1-9 CUNYAC), scoring 10 points with 11 rebounds in a losing effort. Nia Tompkins (Queens, N.Y.) tallied a team-best 16 points, including drilling four three-pointers, while Elesha Dieudonne (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 11 points and eight boards.

For the Lightning (12-6, 7-2 CUNYAC), Amani Lightbourne poured in a game-high 32 points in the victory. Jennifer Navarro netted 24 points to go with eight assists and five rebounds, while Karrin Walker recorded a double-double of her own with 12 points and 15 boards.

The first half started with a back-and-forth first quarter that saw Tompkins connect on all four of her threes as Lehman led 25-19. Following a layup by Foster less than a minute into the second, the Lightning erupted with 17 straight points to build an insurmountable advantage that the Lady Cougars could not come back from the rest of the game.

Medgar Evers was held to just 24.6% from the field throughout the game, while Lehman shot 44.9% in the win. The Lightning dominated on the inside, scoring 42 points in the paint while forcing 24 Lady Cougar turnovers and turning it into 21 points off those mishaps.
