BROOKLYN, N.Y. – After a loss to CUNYAC opponent Baruch Sunday, the Medgar Evers women's basketball team looks to snap their losing streak as they continue a seven-game conference stretch against Hunter College Tuesday night at the Cougars Cave.
In a losing effort, the Lady Cougars (0-11, 0-4 CUNYAC) were led by
Danyelle Foster (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who posted her seventh double-double of the season. The junior scored 12 points and 12 rebounds in the defeat. Foster leads the team with 16.4 points per game (sixth in CUNYAC) and 13.5 boards per contest (fourth in CUNYAC).
Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y.) is another force on the glass, grabbing 10.9 rebounds per game (fifth in the conference) along with 9.4 points.
The Hawks (4-7, 1-3 CUNYAC) are also looking to break a two-game losing skid with home losses to Manhattanville and John Jay College. Widly Couloute scores 15.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for Hunter, which ranks both in the CUNYAC top-10. Jade Aponte averages 12.6 points per game and is the conference's best free-throw shooter with an 83.7% (36-for-43) at the charity stripe.
In last year's meetings, Hunter swept the season series with a 71-28 win on January 6th and a 72-42 victory on February 3rd.
Tip time is set for 6:00 p.m. as the first part of a doubleheader with the men's team at the Cougars Cave following at 8:00 p.m.
