Women’s Soccer Defeated by John Jay in Final Conference Match

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Oct. 26, 2016) – On Wednesday, the women's soccer team hosted the Bloodhounds of John Jay College at Aviator Sports Complex for a CUNYAC matchup. Medgar Evers was able to fight off some close calls in the first half but in the 20th minute John Jay was able to get on the board with a goal from Marley Norton. John Jay would go into halftime up 6-1 with the lone goal for the Lady Cougars coming from senior Sciancia Metelus in the 31sts minute when she split the back defenders with her speed and kicked the ball into the back of the net.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Renee Charles-Warren made 11 saves on the day. With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to 0-12 (0-7 CUNYAC) and John Jay improves to 6-12 (2-4 CUNYAC).
 
Women's soccer will be back in action Saturday, October 29, when they travel to Phoenixville, Pa. for their season finale vs. the University of Valley Forge
