Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – After pushing ahead with a lead into the second half, the Medgar Evers women's basketball team went cold in the third quarter as they were defeated by CUNYAC foe CCNY on Senior Night, 70-54, in their regular season finale Tuesday night at the Cougars Cave.

Senior Nia Tompkins (Queens, N.Y.) led the Lady Cougars (2-23, 2-14 CUNYAC) with a game-high of 24 points, including five three-pointers, in a losing effort. Prior to the game, Tompkins was honored as the lone senior with posters and a commemorative basketball for her tallying 1,000 career points earlier in the season.

Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y.) secured a game-best 17 rebounds along with four blocks and seven points, while Danyelle Foster (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 16 points with six boards and three blocks. Janaisha Carrington (Brooklyn, N.Y) dished off four assists to go with six points and eight rebounds.

Tiara Brown led three players in double figures for the Beavers (16-9, 11-5 CUNYAC) with 20 points, four assists and eight rebounds in the win. Erika Richards fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine boards, while Liz Durchhalter chipped in with 13 points of their own.

In the first half, the Cougars held CCNY to just 26.5% from the field and outscored them 20-12 in the second quarter to take a 30-24 lead into halftime. The second half saw Medgar Evers going cold on the offensive end, failing to score in the first seven minutes of the third quarter.

The Beavers went on a 17-0 run to move ahead by double figures, and would not look back. They held the Lady Cougars to 7-of-27 shooting in the stanza, while CCNY poured in baskets at a 45% clip to take the win.
