Women’s Basketball Loses 13th Straight in 61-44 Loss to CCNY

(BROOKLYN, N.Y.) – Medgar Evers women's basketball hosted the Beavers of CCNY in a CUNYAC matchup on Monday night at the Cougars' Cave. The Lady Cougars dropped their 13th straight game and are still winless after their 61-44 loss. With that loss, Medgar Evers falls to 0-13 (0-6 CUNYAC) while CCNY improves to 5-9 (2-5).
 
            It was a breakout game for sophomore forward Cyndi Whyte (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who scored 17 points on 7-14 shooting in the loss. Whyte also grabbed six rebounds. Senior guard Elesha Dieudonne (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 13 points off the bench while grabbing 11 rebounds.
 
            The Lady Cougars struggled shooting on the night going 16-65 (25%) and did not make one three in their 10 attempts. Medgar Evers trailed by just two points going into halftime but managed to make just four field goals in the second half scoring just 12 points.  
 
            CCNY was led by Elizabeth Zullo who scored 16 points. The women's basketball team is back in action Wednesday, January 11th when they host John Jay at the Cougars' Cave in a CUNYAC matchup beginning at 6 p.m.
