Women's Soccer Tied with York College In Double Overtime

The Medgar Evers Women's Soccer team was in action Wednesday afternoon as they tied with York College in double overtime. The Cougars and Cardinals played evenly alike as both teams played very aggressively in defense.Â
Freshman Brenda Cruz (Colombia) led the Cougars offensively with five shots in the match and two of those shots on goal. Freshman Sandra Morales (Mexico) also had two shots on goal in the match. Freshman Brihonne Desroses (Brooklyn) took two total shots in the match. Cougars took two shots in the first period, five shots in the second period, two shots in the first overtime and zero shots in the second overtime. Sophomore Renee Charles-Warren (Brooklyn/NY) had six saves in the match out of zero goal attempts. She had three saves in the first period, two saves in the second period, one save in the first period and none in the second overtime. Â
Medgar Evers (1-10-1, 0-3-1) will return to the field on Saturday, October 14th a home game away from home versus conference rival Lehman College at 1:00pm at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY.
