Women's Volleyball Lose A Close One On Their Last Regular Season Match

The Medgar Evers women's volleyball team tried to defend Cougars Cave on their last regular season match when they took on the City College of New York Beavers on Tuesday night and dropped the match by a score of 2-3 (9-25, 25-19, 15-25,25-23,10-15).
Sophomore Melisa Wright (St. Catherine, Jamaica WI) led the Cougars in kills with eight. As a team, the Cougars had seventeen kills. Freshman Kaina Bazard (Haiti) led the Cougars in assist with four and also with aces with five. As a team, the Cougars had six assist. Junior Charlena Mackey (Brooklyn, NY), Freshman Shania Laguerre (Trinidad, WI) and Wright all had double digits in digs (11, 13, and 10). As a team, the Cougars had 50 digs.Â
Medgar Evers finished the season with a 0-7Â CUNYAC and a 0-22 overall record for ninth place out of nine teams in the conference.Â
