Women's Soccer Blanked by Green Mountain College

The Medgar Evers Women's Soccer team was in action Tuesday afternoon as they faced Green Mountain College and got shut out by a score of 0-8.
The Cougars couldn't get anything done offensively in the match against the Eagles' tough and very strong defense. The Eagles were able to score six goals in the first half and two goals in the second half.
Freshman Brihonne Desroses (Brooklyn) led the Cougars offensively with three shots on goal out of her six total shots in the match. Freshman Brenda Cruz (Colombia) played goalkeeper for the first half of this game and had seven saves out of six goal attempts. In the second half, Cruz began to play offensively for the Cougars as she had two shots on goal out of her three total shots. Freshman Samantha Rodriquez (Puerto Rico) played goalkeeper for the first time this season while she was the goalie for the second half of today's matchup. She collected one save out of two goal attempts. Senior Charlyn Jordon (St. John's / Antigua) played very well defensively for the Cougars today as she collected many stops and steals for the team.Â
Medgar Evers (1-9, 0-2) will return to the field on Saturday, October 7th against conference rival College of Staten Island at 12:00pm in Staten Island, NY.Â
