Box Score Women's Basketball Defeated 77-47 on the Road at CCNY, Mullings Leads Lady Cougars with 17
(NEW YORK, N.Y.) - Medgar Evers women's basketball visited the Beavers of City College (NY) in a CUNYAC matchup at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Monday night for their regular season finale. The Lady Cougars had trouble hanging on to the ball on their way to a 77-47 loss. With the loss, Medgar Evers falls to 1-24 (1-15 CUNYAC) while CCNY improves to 11-14 (6-10) on the year.
It was a tough first half offensively for the Lady Cougars. They struggled from the field going just 6-20 (30%). The turnovers were the key to the large deficit going into halftime. As a team they turned it over 23 times and had a difficult time handling the defensive pressure put on by CCNY. The Beavers scored 22 of their 42 points off of turnovers in the first half.
The second half was more of the same. CCNY pushed their lead to 27 after three quarters but Medgar Evers did not quit as they played evenly with their opponent in the fourth. They opened the fourth on a 6-0 run on 3-3 field goals with three assists. Senior guard
Ashley Desir (Brooklyn, N.Y.) accounted for two of those assists.

Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y.) who had a team-high 17 points to go along with six rebounds. Senior guard
Elesha Dieudonne (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 7 points and eight rebounds off the bench. CCNY had six players score in double figures with
Erika Richards leading the way with a game-high 19 points. Women's basketball returns to action Thursday, February 16
th when they open play in the first round of the CUNYAC Tournament.
