Women's Soccer Defeated by College of New Rochelle

The Medgar Evers Women's Soccer team was in action Wednesday night as they faced College of New Rochelle and lost by a score of 1-8.
The Cougars couldn't kick up their offense in the first half of the match as they were only able take one shot but were able to play more aggressively on the offense side in the rest of the game as they were able to put up ten more against the Blue Angels tough defense.
Freshman Brenda Cruz (Colombia) scored the only goal for the Cougars in the 77th minute to make the score 1-7. She also took four other shots on goal out of her six total shots in the match. Freshman Jody-Ann Blanchad (Jamaica) took two shots on goal and Brihonne Desroses (Brooklyn) was able to take three shots on goal in the match. Goalkeeper Renee Charles-Warren (Brooklyn/NY) had twelve saves out of eight goal attempts. She had seven in the first half and five in the second half.
Medgar Evers (1-7, 0-2) will return to the field on Saturday, September 30th against non-conference rival Pine Manor College at 2:00pm in Chestnut, MA.
