Men's Soccer Fall to Old Westbury In Season Opener
(written by James Daniel Padilla, SID)
The Medgar Evers College Men's soccer team fell to Old Westbury in their season opener by a score of 5-0 on a windy Saturday afternoon. The Cougars did give up a fight with Senior
Patrick Gentles (Portmore, Jamaica) and Sophomore
Miguel Deanda (Brooklyn) both taking a shot on goal but it wasn't enough to go through with the Patriots strong defense. Freshman goalkeeper
James Hyacinthe (Aquin / Haiti) had six saves in the match. Sophomore
Papa Samb (Manhattan / USA) deserves a notable mention as he played with a huge heart by not giving up at any time throughout the match.
Medgar Evers (0-1) will return to the field on Monday, September 4th at 1:00pm in Middletown, PA against Penn State Harrisburg.
