The Medgar Evers College men's basketball team faced off against the United States Coast Guard Academy on Saturday, November 17.

The Cougars (0-3) fell to the Bears (3-0) by a final score of 94-75. The contest was MEC's first of two games in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic, which is being hosted by USCGA and Connecticut College in New London, CT, on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18.

Justin Sutton led all players with 36 points and added three rebounds and three assists. The senior is 27 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark for his collegiate career.

Mousa Sinera, Jafet Thomas and Joancarlo Bonilla each contributed eight points, while Sinera posted a team-best eight rebounds, including three on the offensive glass. Thomas and Isaiah Garvey-Mwazi tallied five rebounds apiece.

The Cougars return to action tomorrow against Connecticut College. The game will begin at 2:00 pm.
