The Medgar Evers College men's basketball team faced Centenary University on Sunday, December 30, which was day 2 of the 1st Annual Dr. Carol V. DeCosta Go4theGoal Classic, hosted by Medgar Evers College at the Cougars Cave on December 29 and 30.
The Cougars (2-9) fell to the Cyclones (4-9) by a final score of 88-71.
The first half was back-and-forth and featured six lead changes, with MEC trailing by four at halftime.
In the second half, the Cyclones pulled away as they dominated Medgar Evers on the boards, outrebounding the black-and-gold 32-14 in the second half.
Joancarlo Bonilla led MEC in scoring with 13 points and added six rebounds and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Justin Sutton (10) and
Darrell Spaulding (10) joined Bonilla in double figures.
The team returns to action on Thursday, January 3, for a crucial home CUNYAC contest against CCNY. Tip-off will be at 8 pm.
