Men's Volleyball Go 1-1 in CUNYAC Tri Match

The Medgar Evers Men's Volleyball hosted the CUNYAC Tri Match making it their first home games and conference games of the season against the Bearcats and the Cardinals.. The Cougars lost the match against the Bearcats in three straight sets (15-25, 10-25, 16-25). The Cougars then played the Cardinals and won the match in 5 sets (25-23, 25-17, 16-25, 21-25, 15-11).
Against the Bearcats, Freshman Outside Hitter Johan Jimenez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) led the Cougars in kills with 5 and digs with 11. Junior Setter Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada) led the Cougars in assist with 16. Â
Against the Cardinals, Freshman Enmanuel Jaquez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) led the Cougars in kills with 16 and also having a team tied 12 digs. Junior Setter Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada) led the Cougars in assist with 32 while also having a team tied 5 service aces and team tied 12 digs. Sophomore Middle Blocker Jovan Scott (Queens, N.Y.) also had 5 service aces.Â
Medgar Evers (3-3, 1-1) will return to their home court on Thursday, February 22nd against Saint Joseph's College - Brooklyn at 7:00pm.
