Men's Volleyball Sweep Season Series Against the Bears

The Medgar Evers Men's Volleyball played in their seventh overall match of the season versus Saint Joseph's College on Thursday night at 7:00pm. The Cougars won the match in three straight sets (25-19, 25-9, and 25-19) to complete the season sweep against St. Joseph. 

Freshman Outside Hitter Enmanuel Jaquez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) and Freshman Outside Hitter  Johan Jimenez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) both led the Cougars in kills with 8 each. As a team, the Cougars had 31 kills in the match. Junior Setter Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada) led the Cougars in assist with 27 while also having with a tied team high in service aces with 5 with teammate Enmanuel Jaquez (Santiago, Dominican Republic). As a team, the Cougars had 18 service aces. Enmanuel Jaquez (Santiago, Dominican Republic) led the Cougars in digs with 16. As a team, the Cougars had 46 digs in the match. 

For the Bears, Alec Willis recorded 6 kills, 3 assist, and 8 digs in the match. 

Medgar Evers (4-3, 1-1) will take on conference rival John Jay College on Tuesday, February 27th at 7:00pm.
