Men's Volleyball Falls To Conference Rival City College

Men's Volleyball Falls To Conference Rival City College

The Medgar Evers Men's Volleyball played in their eleventh overall match of the season and fifth conference match against City College on Thursday night at 7:00pm. The Cougars dropped the match in three straight sets (20-25, 21-25, and 20-25).

Freshman Outside Enmanuel Jaquez (Santiago, Dominican Republic )led the Cougars in kills with 8 while also recording 8 digs and three blocks solos. Junior Setter Kareem Cyrus (Saint Georges, Grenada)  returns from a game of absence dealing with an injury by leading the Cougars in assist with 22 while also leading the team in digs with 9 and recorded 2 service aces as well. Sophomore Middle Blocker Jovan Scott (Queens, N.Y.) led the Cougars in service aces with 3 while also recording 6 kills and 6 digs. 

For the Beavers, Carlos Maldonado Madrid led his team to the win by recording 8.5 points with six kills, eight digs, and an assisted block.

Medgar Evers (4-7, 1-4) will head to the CSI Tri-Match to face off conference rivals College of Staten Island and Brooklyn College on Sunday, March 11th.
