JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Medgar Evers College women's soccer team opened their 2019 season on the road against New Jersey City University on Wednesday, September 4.
The Cougars (0-1) fell to the Gothic Knights (1-2) by a final score of 12-0.
NJCU started quickly with a goal in the fifth minute, before adding eight more goals before halftime on 47 shots in the half. The Gothic Knights added three more goals in the second half as the pace of play slowed.
Jody-Ann Blanchard made 17 saves in goal for the Cougars. It was a very clean match as only one total foul was committed during the entire contest.
The Cougars return to action on Saturday, September 7, when they take on Clarks Summit University at KIngsborough Community College at 5 pm.
