BROOKLYN, NY - The Medgar Evers College women's basketball team played a road CUNY Athletic Conference game at Brooklyn College on Tuesday, February 18.
The Cougars (6-18, 2-12 CUNYAC) fell to the Bulldogs (19-6, 14-0) by a final score of 94-31. The team finished the season with six wins, Medgar women's basketball's highest win total since the team went 8-18 in the 2010-11 season.Â
The Cougars played well in the first quarter, particularly on defense, as they held the 1st-placed Bulldogs to just 23% shooting from the field (6 of 26), After the first quarter, the Cougars trailed 14-10.
However, Brooklyn outscored the black-and-gold by a score of 33-5 in the second quarter, and pulled away for the rest of the contest.
Cyndi Whyte led Medgar with 14 points, closing her Cougar career with a stellar 1,020 career points (5th in school history).
Destiny Simmons dished out six assists while
Chaniya Daughtry grabbed eight rebounds and swatted three blocks.
The Cougars have now concluded their 2019-20 women's basketball season.
