Cougars defeated by Beavers Tuesday evening in non-conference action

The Medgar Evers College women's volleyball team lost a home match on Tuesday evening, falling to the Beavers of the City College of New York in a non-conference match by scores of 11-25, 10-25, and 2-25. The match took place at the Cougars Cave in Brooklyn, NY. With the defeat, the Cougars dipped to 1-13 on the season, while CCNY improved to 10-5.

Despite the loss for Medgar Evers, Britonya Lloyd registered team-highs of seven digs and two kills. Cristina Canegie added two assists, and Janelle Albert tallied a kill.

Pacing CCNY was Bianka Catral, as she led all players on the evening with nine kills. She also added three service aces, as well. Arianna Rivas hit .667 on the evening, notching seven kills and committing just one error on nine attempts. Additionally, she tied for the match-high of seven digs. Nadia Campoverde and Serena Warner finalized their evenings with four kills apiece, and setter Aubrey Jones collected a match-high 25 assists. Jones and Viviana Alatorre tied for the match-high of seven service aces, as well.

Medgar Evers will return to action on Thursday evening, as the Cougars will stay home to host Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC match. Start-time is scheduled for 6:30pm.
