Cougars fall to Mariners in non-conference action at Bartoszek Field

The Medgar Evers men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match last night, falling to the United States Merchant Marine Academy by a score of 10-0. The match was played at Bartoszek Field in Kings Points, NY. With the defeat, the Cougars slipped to 0-4 on the 2022 campaign, while USMMA improved to 2-2-2.

USMMA cruised in this one, scoring eight goals in the opening session, and notching an additional pair in the final stanza.

Three Mariners were responsible for USMMA's scoring barrage on Wednesday evening. Will Ferry notched five goals on 11 shots (seven on goal), while Connor Damare registered three tallies, and Clayton Ecalono added two.

The Cougars will return to action on Saturday afternoon, as Medgar Evers will travel to Patchogue, NY to take on Saint Joseph's College-Long Island at Danzi Stadium. Start-time for the non-conference clash is scheduled for 12:00pm.
