The Medgar Evers College women's soccer team dropped a CUNYAC match on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College by a score of 12-0. The match took place at York College's Athletic Complex in Jamaica, Queens. With the defeat, the Cougars dipped to 0-7 on the 2024 campaign (0-4 CUNYAC), while Brooklyn improved to 4-7-3 overall and 1-1-1 CUNYAC.

Sage Bernstein and Chelsea Gonzalez connected on the opening goal for the visitors, with Bernstein slashing a ball home to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 edge in the fifth minute. Gonzalez would register two more assists on goals by Audrey Jane Young (ninth minute) and Gianna DiPronio (21st minute). Sandwiched between Young and DiPronio's goals was a score by Dionisia Paypams, as Brooklyn led 4-0 at the 21:16 mark.

Gonzalez would then register two goals 91 seconds apart (26:14, from DiPronio, and 27:45, unassisted) to boost Brooklyn's advantage to 6-0. Imani Dickens would cap the Bulldogs' first half scoring barrage, banging home a pass from Bernstein at 32:00, as Brooklyn took a 7-0 edge into the break.

Medgar Evers did have an opportunity to score in the 14th minute of the first half, as Danajah Lawrence was fouled in the box, drawing a penalty kick. Due to injury, Lawrence was unable to attempt the try, so Liya Workeneh took the shot, but it sailed high of the goal.

DiPronio scored 99 seconds into the second half (from Bernstein) to make it 8-0 Brooklyn, and Young would net her second of the contest (51:40, from Bernstein) as the Bulldogs went up 9-0. Julissa Chino would score an unassisted goal to help the Bulldogs reach double digits, making it 10-0 in the 53rd minute.

Rounding out the scoring on the day for the visitors, Shakhzoda Isomidinova scored two goals for the Bulldogs in the 55th and 60th minutes.

April Hartje played 60:21 in net and earned the victory, making one save and not allowing a goal. Her counterpart, Medgar Evers' Seeta Tomby did take the loss in goal, but made nine saves in the process.

The Cougars will return to action on Wednesday afternoon, as they'll host the Lightning of Lehman College in a non-conference match. The contest will take place at Calvert Vaux Park in Brooklyn, NY, with a start-time of 3:15pm.
