The match took place at the Cougars Cave in Brooklyn, NY. While the contest was Medgar's (0-1 Overall, 0-1 CUNYAC), the Lightning improved to a mark of 3-7 on the season (1-1 CUNYAC).

Sophomore Carlos Abreu contributed eight kills, a match-high 14 digs, as well as five assists, and Louis Caiola added six kills, four digs, and a team-high three service aces. Finally, it was setter Patrick Mateo registering a team-high 24 assists.

Neithan Pilay finalized his evening with five kills, and it was Emmanuel Oladosu registering three kills, six services aces, and a pair of digs.

Trailing 7-3 in set one, the Cougars notched five of the next six points to even the set at eight apiece. Later, Lehman led 13-12 before rattling off five consecutive points to take an 18-12 advantage, but again, Medgar Evers clawed back, outscoring the Lightning 5-1 to pull to within two points, at 19-17. Lehman would capture the set with a strong finish, scoring six of the next seven points to win it, 25-18. Rodriguez, Pilay, and Oladosu each recorded a kill during that aforementioned stretch.

The second set featured a seesaw battle between the CUNYAC foes. Medgar Evers held four-point advantages of 7-3, 11-7, and 12-8, before the Lightning would battle back to take a pair of four point leads of its own, going up 20-16 and 24-20. Staring at potential 2-0 deficit in sets, Medgar Evers fought off set-point four consecutive times to tie Lehman at 24-all. Ramsey recorded a pair of kills during that spurt, and Caiola's service ace tied set two, 24-24.

With set two knotted at 24-all, Caiola recorded another service ace to put the Cougars up 25-24. He would commit a service error on the next play, as the Lightning drew even, 25-25. Ramsey then took over from there, notching a kill to put Medgar back ahead, 26-25, before registering a service ace to give the Cougars the 27-25 set two victory.
