The Medgar Evers College men's volleyball team dropped a pair of CUNYAC matches on Tuesday evening, falling to conference rival John Jay College at the Doghouse in New York, NY. The Cougars dropped the opening match by scores of 4-25, 5-25, and 7-25, before losing the second contest 6-25, 8-25, 0-25. With the defeats, Medgar Evers is now 0-13 on the 2025 campaign (0-10 CUNYAC), while the Bloodhounds improved to 16-6 (8-2 CUNYAC).

In the opening match of the evening, the Cougars were paced by senior Kayshaun Higgs, as he registered a team-high two kills. Newcomer Malik Williams contributed a kill and three digs, and Shabbir Ahmed's five digs tied for the match-high.

John Jay College's Nick Fuentes led all players for the match with eight kills. The Bloodhounds, who hit .475 for the match (22-3-40) while registering a whopping 31 service aces, cruised through the opening two sets, as Medgar Evers notched just nine total points and failed to register consecutive points at any juncture of those aforementioned sets. Medgar Evers' best stretch came while trailing 16-3 in the third and final set, when the Cougars registered three straight points, courtesy of a John Jay service error, as well as a service ace by Nkosi Fraser, and a kill by Williams.

In the second match of the evening, Williams notched the Cougars' only kill, with Jose Janvier registering a team-high three digs.

Steven Ajazi's nine kills were a match-high for John Jay, and Nick Fuentes earned nearly a perfect attacking percentage, notching seven kills and no errors on eight attempts (.875). Bridgelall, Micah Rossman, and Jaden Lamarre notched three kills apiece, with Bridgelall's 13 assists serving as a match-high. Finally, Nerette's nine service aces led all players.

The Cougars stayed close in the early stages of the opening set, trailing just 9-5, before the Bloodhounds finished the set on a 16-1 run to win it. John Jay scored the first six points of the second set, eventually capturing it 25-8, and the hosts finished the evening with an exclamation point, shutting out the Cougars in the third.
