Thomas Keenan enters his 2nd season as the Assistant Basketball Coach at Medgar Evers College. He has coached at the college level for 11 years.

Prior to coming to Medgar Evers he spent 2 seasons at CUNY rival Brooklyn College. He also has experience college coaching at the College of Mt. Saint Vincent for a year as well as three years on the bench at his alma mater Nazareth College. Tommy was also an assistant at Xaverian High School under Jack Alesi and helped lead the Clippers to the 2016 CHSAA City Championship.

He had a very successful high school & college playing career at Catholic University (Washington DC) and Nazareth College (Rochester). Keenan scored 1,048 career points combined at Catholic and Nazareth. He graduated Nazareth with 148 career three-point field goals made in 3 seasons, a total which is still in the Top 15 in school history. He was Nazareth’s leading scorer both his junior and senior years (16.1 ppg and 14.4 ppg respectively) and was team MVP in 2000.

Tommy is a 1996 graduate of Canisius High School in Buffalo, NY. He was a 2x team MVP and a 2x First Team All-League selection (1995 & 1996). He scored 1,154 career points and was inducted in 2011 to the Canisius HS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Tommy is currently a member of the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) and over the past 4 summers he has worked basketball camps all over the country including Michigan State, UCLA, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Providence, Georgetown, Maryland, BYU, Stanford, Davidson, Buffalo, NC State, Loyola Marymount, Syracuse & Siena.

Tommy graduated from Nazareth College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and resides in Brooklyn with his wife Beth.
