LADY COUGARS FALL TO RAMAPO 77-37

Box Score Mahwah, NJ- The Lady Cougars fell to Ramapo College 77-37 on Friday Nov.18, 2011 at the Roadrunner Tip Off Tournament at Ramapo College. The Roadrunners improved to 2-0 while the Lady Cougars dropped to 0-3. 

The Lady Cougars only carried 6 players, so they knew it would be a tough task to win. They would need to play smart basketball, keep their energy up and don't get themselves into too much of the deep end. Ramapo  The Roadrunners came out to an 8-0 start that spanned 2 and a half minutes. They would lead wire to wire.

MEC in the loss was led by Senior Chantal Biscette. She scored 15pts and grabbed 9 rebounds. Biscette also tallied a block and a steal. Senior Yvanna Jack scored 12pts and grabbed 9 rebounds, added 2 assists and a steal. Freshman Tiffany Woodbine played good defense against Ramapo, to force 6 turnovers (a game high).

Ramapo was led by Kayla Berkheiser who scored 10pts.

MEC shot 35.7% from the field and 63.6% from the free throw line. Ramapo shot 47.1% from the field, 25% from 3pt. range, and 91.7% from the free throw line.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Saturday Nov.19, 2011 when they play the Penn St. Berks Lady Nittany Lions in the consolation game of the 2011-12 Roadrunners Tip Off Tournament. Game time is 1pm.
