Box Score New Rochelle, NY- The Lady Cougars defeated the College of New Rochelle Blue Angels 55-46 on Saturday Dec. 10, 2011 at the Wellness Center on the campus of CNR. The win improved the Lady Cougars to 2-7 while the Blue Angels dropped to 4-7. 

Both these teams met 1 week ago. CNR defeated MEC 55-45. MEC was looking for some payback and would be a great way to end the calendar year. In the first half, both teams played very aggresive, forcing each other shots at hard times and making free throws. The half featured 5 ties and 6 different lead changes. MEC led early but only by 4pts. CNR came back and only lead by 4pts as well. They played pretty much shot for shot. It was 25 a piece at the break. MEC shot 26.3% from the field and 55.6% (5-9) from the free throw line. CNR shot 43.5% from the field, 40% from behind the arc, and 50% (3-6) from the free throw line. MEC was led by Chantal Biscette. Biscette scored 12pts and CNR was led by Alyssa Pechin. Pechin tallied 9pts.

The 2nd half started off with both teams making their shots. MEC would go on a 5-0 run, making the score 34-29 with 12:11 to go. They would go another 5-0 run and extend their lead to 13pts. What kept the Lady Cougars in this game was free throws. MEC shot 28.1% from the field and 57.1% from the free throw line. CNR shot 34.6% from the field, 33.3% from the behind the arc, 40% (2-5) from the free throw line. MEC was led by Chantal Biscette. Biscette scored 10pts. CNR was led by Elizabeth Johnston. Johnston tallied 7pts. 

For the game, MEC was led by Chantal Biscette. Biscette, a Senior from Brooklyn, scored 22pts (12-17 FT), grabbed 11 rebounds, and tallied 2 assists, a block and 5 steals. Senior Yvanna Jack, scored 14pts (2-6 FT), grabbed 19 rebounds, and tallied an assist and 2 steals. Freshman Tiffany Woodbine scored 13pts (3-4 FT), grabbed 2 rebounds and tallied an assist and a career high 10 steals. CNR was led by Alyssa Pechin 15pts, and Elizabeth Johnston who scored 13pts.   

The Lady Cougars will be back in action on Monday Jan. 2, 2012 when they take on the Moravian College Greyhounds at the 11th Annual Moravian Winter Classic in Bethlehem, PA. Game time is set for 1pm.
