Montclair, NJ- The Medgar Evers College Cougars Men's Soccer team lost to the Montclair St. Red Hawks on Saturday Sept. 17, 2011 in Montclair, NJ. The Cougars lost by a final score of 10-1. They dropped to 0-7 while the Red Hawks improved to 4-1-2.
The Cougars looked strong early in the match, as they used good ball movement to get close to the net. In the 2nd minute, Freshman
Zeakiel Daley scored on an unassisted goal (1st of the season), giving the Cougars a 1-0. They would have multiple chances, but the shots either went wide of the net or hit a defender blocking the net. The Cougars only got credited with 3 shots in the 1st half, while Montclair St. had 23 shots.
In the 2nd half, Montclair St. dominated the game. The Cougars were outshot 8-5. The Cougars started to get fatigured as the game winded down.

Christopher Welsh who started gave up 5 goals while stopping 4 shots in 35 minutes.
Stanley Ballantyne came on in relief, and gave up 5 goals while stopping 3 shots in 54 minutes.
The Cougars will be back in action on Sunday Sept. 18, 2011, when they travel to Throggs Neck, Bronx, NY on the campus of SUNY Maritime Privateers. Game time is set for 7pm.
