Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Women's Volleyball team fell to the York College Cardinals 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 18-25, 20-25) on Senior Night at Medgar Evers College. The win improved the Cardinals record to 6-17 Overall and 2-5 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 3-21 Overall and 1-6 CUNYAC.

Yosner Nicolas were honored. This was also the last home match in their careers.
After York won the 1st set, Medgar Evers College tallied 9 kills for a hitting percentage of .261. Sets 3 and 4 were not what the Cougars wanted, as they committed 17 errors. The Cougars were making a comeback in the 4th set, down 23-20. The Cougars would make a service error and then an attacking error, which would end the match.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Senior Captain and Outside Hitter
Janiece Hill, with 9 kills on 29 total attacks. Hill added an assist, a match high 6 service aces, and 5 digs. Sophomore Setter
Nina Bernadine-White recorded a season high 7 kills on 13 total attacks. The St. Lucia native racked up 9 assists, 3 service aces, 3 digs, and a blocking assists. Senior Middle Hitter/Outside Hitter
Beatrice Bonhomme added a team high 8 digs.
In the win, the Cardinals were led by Stayce Kay Muirhead with 10 kills. Evelyn Florentino added a match high 18 assists. Â
With the regular season coming to a conclusion next Tuesday, the Cougars will wait and see if the College of Staten Dolphins fall to the Lehman College Lightning tonight. If the Lightning win, the Cougars will qualify for the 2013 CUNYAC Championships. If CSI win, there next opponent is York College. Up next for the Cougars is the Baruch College Bearcats, on Tuesday Oct. 29, 2013 at Baruch College, in Manhattan. Game time is 7pm.
