COUGARS FALL TO BARUCH IN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Box Score New York, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Basketball team fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 81-22 earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 11-5 Overall and 7-1 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 2-14 Overall and 0-8 CUNYAC. 

The Bearcats led from the opening tip. The closest the Cougars got within the lead, was two points which was after the 1st basket. The lone bright spot was the Cougars shot much better from 3pt. range, than the Bearcats. The Cougars shot 33.3% from 3pt. range and the Bearcats shot 6.7%.

In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain Nia Tompkins scored 14pts (3-5 FT-FTA). The Queens, NY native grabbed six rebounds, and added a team high three steals. 

In the win, Baruch was led by Lynda Fields with 15pts. Three other Bearcats compiled double figure stats. Iyana Abrams scored 12pts, Symone Green and Vanessa Santana both added 10pts apiece.

The Cougars will be back in action on Wednesday 22, 2014, when the Lehman College Lightning travel to Brooklyn and play the Cougars. Game time is 6pm.
