Box Score Farmingdale, NY- The Women's Basketball Cougars fell to the Farmingdale State Rams 65-37 earlier today. The Rams improve to 3-4 Overall while the Cougars drop to 2-10 Overall.
The Cougars were down early to the Rams 4-0, nearly 3 minutes into the game. They would cut the lead to a bucket, but that would be the closest they get for the rest of the game.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Co-Captain and Sophomore Guard
Nia Tompkins with a game high 16pts. The Queens, NY native grabbed five rebounds, dished out two assists, tallied a block, and forced a steal. Freshman Forward/Center
Kimonia Mullings grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. Freshman Guard
Ashley Desir dished out a team high five assists.
In the win, Farmingdale State were led by Christina Merrill with 14pts. Nicky Young added 12pts.
The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday January 7, 2014, when the John Jay Bloodhounds come to the Cougars Cave, and take on the Medgar Evers College Cougars. Game time is 6pm.
