Box Score Brooklyn, NY- The Medgar Evers College Women's Basketball team fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 72-37 earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 16-7 Overall and 12-3 CUNYAC, while the Cougars drop to 2-18 Overall and 0-12 CUNYAC.
The Cougars led for about 3 minutes. Sophomore Guard and Co-Captain
Nia Tompkins, opened the game with a 3pt. shot. The Cougars shot 28.6% from the 3pt. range, and 55.6% from the free throw line, better than the Bearcats 4.5% from behind the arc, and 38.5% from the charity strip.
In the loss, the Cougars were led by Sophomore Guard
Nia Tompkins (2-2 FT-FTA) with a game high 16pts. The Queens, NY native grabbed six rebounds and added two steals. Freshman Forward
Kimonia Mullings grabbed a team high 11 rebounds.
In the win, the Bearcats were led by Ashika Kuruvilla with 14pts. Lynda Fields and Veronica Ganzi both added 11pts apiece.
The Cougars will suit up again tommorrow, Feb. 12, 2014, when they travel to New York, NY and battle the John Jay College Bloodhounds. This is a makeup game originally scheduled back on Feb. 3rd, 2014. Game time is 4pm. Â Â Â Â
