JUNIOR GUARD NIA TOMPKINS SCORES 11PTS AGAINST BARUCH

New York, NY- The Women's Basketball team fell to the Baruch College Bearcats 80-20 earlier tonight. The Bearcats improve to 14-4, 10-0 CUNYAC while the Cougars drop to 1-19, 0-11 CUNYAC. 

The Bearcats led from the opening tip. The Cougars shot 12.3% from the field, 18.8% from 3pt. range, and 50% from the free throw line. The Bearcats shot 54.1% from the field, 30.8% from 3pt. range, and 50% from the free throw line. In the loss, the Cougars were led by Junior Guard Nia Tompkins with 11pts (4-21 FG-FGA and 3-11 3pt. FG-FGA). Nia grabbed a team high nine rebounds. Sophomore Forward Kiwelewa Mlimwengu dished out a team high two assists. Baruch was led by Veronica Ganzi with 19pts. Three other student-athletes scored in double figures, including the following: Symone Green (16pts), Vanessa Santana (14pts), and Francess Henry (14pts).

The Cougars will be back in action on Tuesday, February. 3, 2015, when they play the Hunter College Hawks at Medgar Evers College. Tip-off will be at 6:00 pm.
