Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- The Medgar Evers women's basketball team fell behind out of the gate, and could not recover as they lost to nonconference foe Albertus Magnus, 90-32, at the Cougars Cave Tuesday night.

Danyelle Foster (Brooklyn, N.Y./Newtown) posted her fifth double-double of the season for the Lady Cougars (0-7), tallying 13 points and grabbing a game-high 16 rebounds and five blocks. The team also got nine points and six boards from Kimonia Mullings (Queens, N.Y./Flushing) in a losing effort. Nia Tompkins (Queens, N.Y./The Young Women's Leadership Academy) coralled seven boards, while Ashley Desir (Brooklyn, N.Y./Midwood) chipped in with six points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Falcons (4-3) were paced by Liz Falcigno, who led four players in double figures with a game-best 23 points. She drilled four out of the team's eight three-pointers on the night. Olivia Bolden poured in 19 points with four steals, while Zaria Cobbs notched a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds) in the victory. Olivia Sutherland dished out a game-high six assists to go with nine points and four boards.

Medgar Evers fell behind right at the first tip, with Albertus Magnus running out to a 14-0 run in the first three and a half minutes and would lead wire-to-wire. They were held to just 6-for-35 shooting in the first half, and would go into intermission up 49-13. The Falcons defense forced 30 Lady Cougar turnovers, and held them to just 22.4% shooting from the field the entire game. They also dominated the inside with a 36-12 points in the paint advantage.

The Lady Cougars will look to snap this losing skid Friday night when they head to the Bronx to take on CUNYAC foe Lehman College. Tip off is set for 5:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7:00 p.m. Live stats and video will be made available on Lehman's website.
