BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- For the stellar performance throughout the men's basketball season, Medgar Evers senior guard
Matthew Lee (Bloomfield, N.J.) was named to the ECAC Division III Metro All-Star first team as announced by the conference Tuesday morning.
The senior brought an impressive offensive production to Medgar Evers in his lone season with the team. He averaged 29.1 points per game, which ranked first in CUNYAC and second in all of NCAA Division III) along with 7.1 rebounds (5th in CUNYAC) and 2.7 assists per game (leads the team). Lee finished 13 games with 30-plus points, including conference-best 50-point effort in win on January 30th.Lee helped Medgar Evers to a 10-win improvement from last season (13), including a six-game winning streak to close the regular season. He helped pace the team to berths in both the CUNYAC Championship and ECAC Metro/Upstate Tournaments. The guard connected on 260 field goals made (first in CUNYAC, second in D-III) along with 173 free throws made (first in CUNYAC, 7th in D-III) at a clip of 85.6% from the charity stripe (tops in CUNYAC).This adds to numerous postseason accolades Lee has won in his lone season with the Cougars. He was also named to the CUNYAC All-Star first team, D3hoops.com All-Atlantic first team, and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Atlantic District second team.
