Women's Volleyball Swept Through York Tri Match

The Medgar Evers women's volleyball team get swept in the York Tri Match against Sarah Lawrence College and York College.

The first match was against Sarah Lawrence College which the Gryphons swept the Cougars 25-12, 25-11 and 25-15. Both Melisa Wright (St. Catherine, Jamaica WI) and Shania Laguerre (Trindad, WI) led the Cougars in kills with four. Melisa also had seven digs in the match while Shania led the team in digs with ten. Kaina Bazard (Haiti) led the Cougars with five assist.  

The second match was against York College which the Cardinals won in four sets against the Cougars. The set scores were 21-25, 25-19, 24-26 and 23-25. York took the first, third and fourth set and Medgar won the second set. Melisa Wright (St. Catherine, Jamaica WI) led the Cougars in kills with twelve and also had eleven digs. Kaina Bazard (Haiti) led the Cougars in assist with ten and also had twelve digs. Shania Laguerre (Trindad, WI) led the Cougars in digs with fourteen.

Medgar Evers (0-13,0-3) will return to the court on Thursday, October 5th for an away match against Rutgers-Camden at 7:00pm in Camden, NJ.
